Through the years, the Gutwein family has placed emphasis on producing quality products and providing quality service. We strive to continue this tradition by producing our popcorn on fertile soil to produce the highest quality kernels.

By producing the popcorn on fertile soil, we will be able to deliver only the best tasting popcorn. We believe popcorn is "A HEALTHY SNACK" whether it is packaged in the microwave bag or in a poly bag to be popped on the stove, or in an electric popper. Harvey Gutwein

Harvey Gutwein

Harvey was born, raised, and continues to reside in Francesville, Indiana. After graduating from high school in 1970, he attended Vincennes University for one year and decided to return to the family seed corn business. In 1986, he started taking evening classes at St. Joseph’s College and graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management. In 1998, he started Gutwein Popcorn Company.
He married Ellen in 1972 and they have raised five children whose names are Nicole, Heather, Stuart, Lance, and Tyler. All of their children are married and the family picture has grown, as there are now 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren in the family. Along with spending time with family, he enjoys to travel, fish, and fly. Several of his grandchildren like to take their turn as the co-pilot in the single engine Piper airplane he keeps in a hangar at the farm.

Lance Gutwein, Farm Manager


Lance Gutwein
Lance graduated from West Central High School in 1999. He then attended Black Hawk College where he graduated with an Associate’s degree in Ag Production and an Associate’s degree in Ag Management. Lance has helped out on the farm since he was in high school and started full time after graduating from Black Hawk in 2001. He is the manager of Hallmark Farms and he oversees all of the planting, irrigating, and harvesting of the popcorn crop.
Lance and his wife Erica married in 2002. They have four children, Kelsey, Landon, Maddox, and Jia. Lance enjoys camping trips with his family and also helping coach his son’s baseball team.

Tyler Gutwein, Plant Manager

Tyler Gutwein
Tyler has been working in the family business since he was in high school. While obtaining his Associate’s Degree in Marketing and Management, he continued to process popcorn. Tyler has responsibilities in many different aspects of the company that include facilitating all plant operations, sales, working with other professionals in the popcorn industry, and coordinating popcorn growers throughout the season.
Tyler and his wife Lacie have been married since 2008 and reside in Francesville. They have 2 daughters. In his spare time, Tyler enjoys fishing and other outdoor activities.

Shawn Geyer, Warehouse Manager

Shawn graduated from West Central High School in 2008 and started working for Gutwein Popcorn Company in 2012. He works in the plant on a daily basis, hauls for Hallmark Farms, and helps in the fields when needed. Shawn enjoys being outdoors and spending time with friends and family. Shawn married his longtime girlfriend, Lindsey, in 2015 and they continue to reside in Francesville with their twins.

Logan Mullenix

Logan graduated in 2012 in Ohio. He moved to Francesville in 2018 after meeting Tricia; they married in 2021. Logan started working for Gutwein Popcorn in January 2020. He is a processing technician and helps Hallmark Farms in the field as needed. Logan joined the Francesville Volunteer Fire Department in 2022. He enjoys collecting Wheel Horse garden tractors, traveling, and spending time with his wife and 3 dogs.

Erica Gutwein, Office Manager

Erica graduated from West Central in 2001. She and Lance married in 2002, and she then graduated from Ivy Tech's Dental Assisting Program in 2003. She worked in the dental field for 8 years before deciding to become a stay-at-home mom. Erica joined the business in 2014. In her spare time, she is busy with their 4 children and enjoys going to their events, reading, and camping.


Lacie Gutwein, Quality Manager

Lacie graduated from West Central High School in 2006. She attended Valparaiso University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked as an RN in the Emergency Department for 3 years before joining the family business in 2012. Lacie is responsible for maintaining the food safety and quality systems that Gutwein Popcorn has implemented.
Lacie has been married to Tyler since 2008. They have 2 daughters, Piper and Finley, and a dog, Axyl. She enjoys the girls' activities, being outdoors, gardening, and crafting.
